Llewellyn's Little Book of Spirit Animals by Melissa Alvarez

Llewellyn’s Little Book of Spirit Animals by Melissa Alvarez

Spirit animals have always been an essential aspect of magick as well as in Shamanism where they act as important messengers from the inner planes.

In addition to their ability to teach a guide animals are also powerful healers with many enabling an altogether more balanced and peaceful lifestyle. Suffice it to say this is something pet owners have always known to be true!

Prolific Writer

Melissa Alvarez is a bestselling, award-winning writer who has authored ten books and nearly five hundred articles on subjects such as self-help, spirituality, and well-being. In addition she is also a professional intuitive coach, energy worker, spiritual advisor, and medium.

The author is also a known animal communicator and in her book Llewellyn’s Little Book Of Spirit Animals she reveals her own deep insights into the relevance and significance of a wide range of spirit animals.

Her concise guide initially investigates the world of spirit animals before offering specific advice on the best way to work with animal guides. These include wild animals, domesticated animals, and finally mythic animals.

We previously rated Melissa Alvarez’s more extensive work on animal guides, namely Animal Frequency and Animal Frequency cards as quality publications. This delightful little guide is a condensed version of Animal Frequency and although smaller is equally insightful and entertaining.

In the introduction to this book the author explains that it came about through her readers request for a handy reference – a sort of pocket edition that could be carried around more easily.

The result is that Llewellyn’s Little Book of Spirit Animals includes shorter descriptions of the animals than those included in Animal Frequency along with the omission of the full mythology of the mythical animals and their associated visualisations.

However, this smaller version includes fifty more animals in the wild animal section as well as some additional tips and tools to help readers connect to their own energy animal.

So, whilst both titles are recommended by us each one plays a slightly different role. Which you prefer is entirely a personal choice though frankly if you are an Alvarez fan you will want both.

Either way the sheer depth of intuitive insight offered by the author is breathtaking, fun, and highly entertaining. A great Little Llewellyn Guide that really offers a great deal more than its title suggests.
