Shamanic Secrets for Material Mastery by Robert Shapiro

Shamanic Secrets for Material Mastery by Robert Shapiro

For many people, the idea that the Earth contains an inherent spirituality is challenging.

We live in an age where most of our esoteric beliefs focus on the above and the beyond. From these core concepts, humanity has evolved most of its current spiritual paradigms.

They are based on the idea of ascension and union with the Infinite.

However, some of the more traditional belief systems take a different approach.

Instead of looking to an external being, they focus on planet Earth and its esoteric secrets.

In recent years, there has been a cultural shift in attitudes toward nature and spirituality. This is partly a result of the eco-movement. Many of the old traditions, Wicca, Paganism and Shamanism, have become popular again.

In ‘Shamanic Secrets for Material Mastery”Robert Shapiro presents the first of three books in his ‘Shamanic Secrets’ series. The others are ‘Shamanic Secrets for Physical Mastery’ and ‘Shamanic Secrets for Spiritual Mastery’.

This volume explores the connection between humanity and Mother Earth.

It focuses on the characteristics of the Shamanic experience and how we can heal ourselves and the planet by recognizing this delicate symbiotic relationship.

Based around a sequence of channeled messages the author received in the late 1990s from his guide ‘Speaks of Many Truths’, the book explores different regions of the World and reveals their unique spiritual dynamics and connections.

Locations covered include large, sparsely-populated areas, such as mountains, rivers and deserts, and places that hold an ancient spiritual heritage.

The book is profusely illustrated with photographs and maps. It also contains exercises that you practice to connect with a chosen area.

At 500 pages, this is a big book with some equally grand propositions. Not least of these is the idea that physical postures, such as finger and arm manipulations, can heal and psychically engage with locations around the World. These concepts may or may not be true, but they form a key part of this book.

Despite the book’s quite wonderful title, the content does not specifically relate to any type of Shamanic tradition. Nor does it contain any real secrets of mastering the material.

Instead, it wanders through a complicated and disparate sequence of loose esoteric ideas that seem to be based on the assumption that you will not challenge any of them too deeply.

Reading it through, it soon felt very strange that the some areas of the globe that still have an extremely strong sacred and Shamanic tradition associated with them, Northern Europe, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom, was not featured, or even referenced, at any stage.

You would have thought that this would have been a natural and fertile region to focus upon.

The recipient must challenge all channeled material. They must avoid automatically presenting the material as holding any sort of truth. Sadly, most of the material in this book is so thin of real content or depth of meaning that it soon becomes a very tiring and somewhat dispiriting read.

This is a book that is a product of its era: a time when this sort of material was very popular with non-too-discerning audiences.

Quite frankly, I do not see it being published in today’s spiritual climate. The fact that it remains in print comes as a surprise to me.

Robert Shapiro is a highly experienced and creditable author but I suspect this book is not typical of his later work but, nevertheless, it is not a publication that I would recommend!
