In AGING WITH WISDOM, Hoblitzelle offers loving guidance for embracing life in all its fullness and wonder, drawing from her own experience, as well as from varied wisdom traditions and cultures that revere elders. While acknowledging the unsettling realities of later life, she highlights that this phase of life—which she calls “the most heroic”—has rich oppor- tunities for reflection, growth and resolution and offers many joys and blessings.
Hoblitzelle does not shy away from death. In a section titled “Passages: Dying Into Life” she approaches the subject with stories showing a range of experiences that explore the mysteries that unfold before and during dying. In the final section of the book, she shares the profiles of six “Wayshowers,” elders she admires for their approach to aging with grace.
